Elevator Outage Updates
Riverfront Park & Central Platte Valley District Residents,
Modernization of the 18th Street Bridge elevators began on Monday, June 2, 2025. During this project, the elevator will be closed for approximately 4–5 weeks while upgrades are completed. Work will take place one side at a time to help minimize disruption, and we strongly encourage all users to plan accordingly for potential delays or alternate access routes during this period. The expected total duration for completion is 8-10 weeks.
As of September 24th, ride quality adjustments and swapping out the style of 3D detector edges that Denver Fire no longer allows are happening on both cars. The elevator technician crew will be testing the internet and fire for car 1. Afterwards, internet will be setup in the second car's machine room resulting in a call for an inspection on both elevators.
Access to downtown can be made via either the 15th street or 20th street corridor during these outages.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance the functionality and long-term service of the Union Gateway Bridge elevators.
